Welcome to SchoolRails. These Terms of Use ("Terms") govern your access to and use of the SchoolRails mobile application and web platform ("Service"). By using the Service, you agree to these Terms.

1. About SchoolRails

SchoolRails is a communication and fee management platform that connects educational institutions (schools, colleges, tuition centers) with parents. The Service enables:

  • Schools to send announcements and messages to parents
  • Parents to view fee details and submit payment proof
  • Schools to review and verify payment submissions

Important: SchoolRails is NOT a payment gateway. We do not process payments directly. Parents make bank transfers directly to their school's bank account and submit proof through the app. Schools manually verify these submissions.

2. User Accounts

2.1 Account Creation

Parent accounts are created by schools. You will receive login credentials (email/phone and a PIN) to access the mobile app. You are responsible for:

  • Keeping your PIN confidential
  • All activities that occur under your account
  • Notifying your school immediately of any unauthorized access

2.2 Account Termination

Schools may deactivate parent accounts when students leave the institution. You may request account deletion by contacting your school directly.

3. Acceptable Use

When using SchoolRails, you agree NOT to:

  • Submit false or fraudulent payment proof
  • Attempt to access accounts or data belonging to other users
  • Use the Service for any illegal purpose
  • Upload malicious files or content
  • Interfere with the proper functioning of the Service
  • Share your account credentials with others

4. Payment Submissions

4.1 Proof of Payment

When submitting payment proof, you must provide accurate and legitimate documentation of your bank transfer. Submitting false or manipulated receipts is strictly prohibited and may result in account suspension.

4.2 Verification

Schools are solely responsible for verifying payment submissions. SchoolRails does not guarantee that submissions will be approved. Payment disputes should be resolved directly with your school.

4.3 No Payment Processing

We do not handle, process, or hold any funds. All financial transactions occur directly between parents and schools through their respective banks.

5. School Responsibilities

Schools using SchoolRails are responsible for:

  • Accuracy of fee information and bank account details
  • Proper management of parent and student data
  • Timely verification of payment submissions
  • Compliance with applicable education and privacy laws
  • Obtaining necessary consent for enrolling parents on the platform

6. Messages and Notifications

By using SchoolRails, you consent to receiving push notifications and in-app messages from your school. These may include:

  • Fee reminders and payment status updates
  • School announcements and important notices
  • Personal messages from school administration

You can manage notification preferences in your device settings.

7. Intellectual Property

The SchoolRails name, logo, and all related content are owned by SchoolRails. You may not copy, modify, or distribute our trademarks or content without permission.

8. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law:

  • SchoolRails is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind
  • We are not liable for any payment disputes between parents and schools
  • We are not responsible for school actions regarding payment verification
  • We are not liable for service interruptions or data loss
  • Our total liability shall not exceed the amount paid by you (if any) for the Service

9. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold SchoolRails harmless from any claims, damages, or expenses arising from your use of the Service or violation of these Terms.

10. Service Availability

We strive to maintain high availability but do not guarantee uninterrupted service. We may temporarily suspend the Service for maintenance or updates without prior notice.

11. Changes to Terms

We may modify these Terms at any time. Continued use of the Service after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms. We will notify users of significant changes through the app or via email.

12. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of Pakistan. Any disputes shall be resolved in the courts of Pakistan. You agree to submit to the exclusive jurisdiction of these courts.

14. Entire Agreement
